During Windows Vista Setup you need to provide the Intel Matrix Storage Driver when you select the HD where you are going to install.

Download the driver, unzip it to USB stick and when selecting the HD click the link "Load Driver"

Setup will finish correctly

I hope you slapped your brother for doing that, because it was bang out of order - certainly without your permission :emotion-3: :emotion-39:

He could've dual-booted Vista and Linux!  It would've meant deleting one of the four partitions first of course, but at least your Vista installation would've remained intact :emotion-43:

 

Anyways... since you've completely reformatted the drive (your brother may have done it anyway?), it's probably gone, but I'll ask anyway:

Do you not still have the 'Recovery' partition, because that would save you hours of grief?
