well i figured you were able to boot still. the ram is most likely bad. take one stick out at a time if memtest86 fails, and figure out which one is bad. contact newegg they should send you a replacement overnight
It wasn't having this problem at all until after I swapped out the memory. I looked inside when I opened the back and it seems pretty clean. Not much dust at all.
The only problem it had was the distorted graphics like the original poster of this thread had.
I'm starting to think it might be something other than faulty RAM. Could it be the wrong RAM?

By the way, I had her buy Corsair. It wasn't the cheapest but it is Corsair's budget RAM.
This laptop is used for YouTube, Facebook and Scout.com almost exclusively.

Running it now.

MemTest completed 2 full passes with not a single error.
I restarted and as soon as it tried to launch Windows it crashed to the Blue Screen of Death

Ok, I rebooted again and got into Windows. I connected to my work Wifi network but it says there is no internet access.
I tried to open networking setting and keep getting an Explorer stopped working.
I kept getting random blue screen crashes. I made sure the RAM was seated properly and still same problem
I put the old RAM back in and booted up and no crashes but the graphics distortions are back.

it has to be from bad ram. i would exchange them just to be sure. have you updated the bios? (do it with the old ram)

I am not sure about it being bad RAM. It did pass the MemTest. I contacted NewEgg for help but they were useless.
I sent an e-mail to Corsair and I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I have not tried updating the BIOS. Maybe I'll give that a shot next.
So far, after putting the old RAM back in the only problem that persists is the graphical one. No crashes.

I will contact NewEgg and see what they say. I'm just worried since it passed the MemTest that a new set of RAM is going to do the same thing.

I haven't heard back from NewEgg but Corsair also suggested I update the BIOS and maybe try the sticks one at a time.
After that, they said, they don't know what else they can do.

I updated the BIOS yesterday and reinstalled the new RAM and it appears to be working just fine.
I did have a minor problem when the computer locked up during the BIOS update but it worked.
