Lynksys wireless PCI WMP54G - Will not accpet driver Windows 98

Question

Please help if you have had this experience. Just purchased Lynksys WMP54G wireless PCI card for Win 98 2nd edition.  The card I put in my Dimension 4100 Win95 works fine.  I am using this with WRT54G wireless G Broadband router.   The Optiplex GXM 5133 with this WMP54G will not work.  The driver loads but does not work.  In settings, system, network devices the exclamation shows.  I have loaded from disc, downloaded the driver from Lynksys for Win 98 and nothing works. Lynksys help desk said I may have to contact Dell for BIOS upgrade or change settings.  This is very frustrating!  Any help is appreciated.  I tried loading the Wired PCI card from my Dimension into the Optiplex and it did not automatically find drivers.  I bagged that idea at that point because it is wireless I need anyway. Thanks!!

I'm having the same problem. did  you ever figure this out.   Is the Linksys driver bad

No.  The PC does not have enough memory.  I purchased a used Pentium III and gave the old pc away.
