Dell Studio 15 - Noise over 1394 Firewire port for audio

I have a Dell Studio 15 laptop and all is good so far, apart from when I hook up my Behringer FCA202 Audio Interface. As soon as it's connected, noise comes through my speakers. I know it is not the audio interface, speakers or cables as it all works fine on another machine fine. As soon as I insert the firewire cable, the noise comes over the speaker, unplug it and it stops. I can get audio to the speakers fine, but there is always noise in the background, and a lot when no audio is playing.

Ok, so I got fed up of this and sold the FCA202 and bought the USB version, UCA202. And guess what...!?

Exactly the same issue!

Even if I just tap the USB cable onto the port (as in not even plugging it in) the interference starts coming through the speakers!

It's as if there is some electrical current passing over all the ports, sending interference and noise!

Any ideas?
