my impressions of dell 2408wfp rev a01 (made in mexico)

Question

I just got my dell 2408wfp rev a01 (made in mexico). I live in Los Angeles, CA and it seems I always get the ones manufactured from mexico. So if you live in this area you probably will get the same one as me. My biggest concern was the input lag on this monitor, but after reading a lengthy article from xbit.com. I gave the 2408 the benefit of the doubt. I plugged in the monitor DVI to DVI and tried out call of duty 4 right away. I couldn't notice any input lag compared to my Benq 22' TN based LCD panel. There was no sluggishness in mouse movement in desktop either. I did notice some sluggishness of mouse movement in the CoD 4 menu screen, but I think this is just a bug in the game and not the hardware. I also tried out my current favorite MMORPG: Warhammer and it was just awesome. No input lag at all for sure. Well, no input lag that distracted me from the full gaming experience. My personal opinion is that unless you are a Quake / Unreal addict, you really wont notice any input lag or rather it will distract you from your gaming experience. I just wanted to share my experience w/ those who might be on the fence. Just buy it and if you do have problems dell has a 21 day refund policy. I'll post some more comments later, but I need to go grab a plane ride to Vegas!

Is the left side noticaeably brighter than the rest of the monitor?  2 inch band of lighter area from the left side in.  This was a common problem on the A00s.

Mine is, what is the problem with the monitors? I am on my second new one, and they were both the same. I am surprised also by during the windows login screen, the bottom left corner of the monitor is purple when it is suppose to be blue. I have never seen this with any other monitors including TN based panels.
