Dell are seeing this heat problem on many xps M1710 and are replacing them with m1730.
They are not having the spare parts and thus more will fail over time.
The heat in the GPU kills the memory and then the MOBO.
Have a read at the number of times loyal Dell customers have had MOBO GPU FANS and the same fault happens again some time s within the week!!!
Dell need to keep customers an high end XPS customers expect this top service.
Many friend has the same problem and is being told different things every time he rings XPS support.
Even Dell uk do not want to help.
Read all the other Dell blogs. Very interesting.
