It is a good software that you can use, incase if you see any options like Disable Antivirus (For 1 hr or 2 hr) or Game Mode in Symantec Antivirus as options you can try that.
I am not a gamer, nor a Vista user. I have to tell you that, in general, I do not recommend Symantec products, based on past experience and on what I see posted since. You might want to ask this in the gaming forum: http://en.community.dell.com/forums/3339.aspx
