E1505--Can't format anysize HDD beyond 60GB

Question

My E1505 is a great laptop. I purchased it 2-1/2 years ago with a 60Gb HDD. I now need more space. I tried a new 320 Gb and a new 200 Gb HDD as replacements.  Using Acronis True Image, both drives became 60 Gb images of the original. Dell support (for a $39 fee) told me the E1505 is limited to 120 Gb. I purchased a new 120 Gb HDD from Dell. At the time of format, the E1505 'saw' a 120 Gb HDD, but when I used True Image to migrate my image, I ended with a 60 Gb clone of my original HDD! How do I get my original 60 Gb disk contents image and access to my full 120 Gb?  How do I reformat and recover the 'lost' space on the previous 200 and 320 Gb HDDs?

I cannot speak to the issue with Acronis, but your XP disc is certainly capable of formatting a 120-GB hard drive. I would guess if your XP disc includes SP1 or higher, you could format the larger drives as well.
