SP2208 Monitor webcam problems

Question

I recently bought an SP2208 dell monitor with webcam and I can't seem to get the webcam to even pop up in the list of hardware for the computer. I downloaded the driver that dell suggested but the webcam isn't even recognized by my computer. Any suggestions would be helpful!

did you connect the monitor by USB as well as the video connection?  the webcam stuff uses USB.
