Dell 1815dn printer cannot send fax, I\O error from Dell 1815 Fax port.

Users send faxes from their PC through the Dell 1815 Fax software to a networked 1815dn printer. Up until a couple of days ago everything was fine. Now all users cannot send a fax to this printer for transmission. When a fax is sent the software returns an I\O error.  Research online and on these forums has not come up with any result or even simular matches. All machines are Windows XP. No recent software updates via Microsoft update or Driver updates to the print server.

Can everyone still print to the 1815dn? (that would tell us if there's a network problem, or not)

Can you send a fax from the 1815 manually (standing in front of it)?

You use MS Office? Any Office updates?

It been my experience that there's usually an overlooked reason for these "all of a sudden....." incidents.

No printing issues.

Yes, they can send from the panel.

Does not matter what program they send from Adobe, OpenOffice, MSOffice.

Issue seems related to the Dell 1815 Fax port. Did have a new user added to the Scan-to-pc group last week using the netscan software. Can't see for the life of me how that could have effected all other users.
