I have not looked at this in a while, but this test must favor Nvidia cards as there are some scores with better ATI cards that are much lower than some Nvidia cards that are not even that good. An ATI HD 5870 is superior to my GTS 250 and it scores exactly the same. The HD 5870 is better than the GTX 285 and they are scoring at the top of the list. It would seem that if you have an ATI card, it would be too depressing to take this test.
Actually, according to other benchmarks, the HD 5870 barely outperforms the stock GTX 285. Therefore, the factory overclocked GTX 285 would be on par with the performance of the HD 5870. Refer to the image below.
After playing Crysis Wars for a couple of days, I heard a loud high pitched squeal coming from the GTX- and after I shut down and restarted it, some clicking and rattling noises around the fan blades.....RMA time.....hopefully....this will not happen again..... See the following link....
Received the replacement GTX-470..............so..... as I was currently in posession of two(2) GTX-470's.......... and an SLI Bridge........ I thought , Hey why not!
Tested the GTX-470's in SLI and received the exact same score as the single GTX-470 sometimes a little less....around 1188 at default settings.....
So, Pulled the second and have it packaged reasy to send back as RMA.....
I suppose, Nvidia is still improving upon the drivers.....as I installed two Bea drivers in the last week..... But, I got to see why it is not wise (just yet) for me to benefit from SLI until maybe a year or two so that Nvidia and Gaming starts to recognize the features of the GTX-400 cards. Such as Tesselation.
By the way....the tesselation feature is quite impressive as I tried out the Unigine Heaven benchmarking tool.
So, all is well in my world for the next couple of years.
I sure got a lot of use out of the 9800GT's in SLI for the last 5 years.....
