Dell Dimension e510 Power Supply Question!?
Hey everyone!
Currently I have http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Dimension-Optiplex-HP-P3067F3-H305N-00/dp/B000Q2WBVI as my power supply (305W) and I am looking to upgrade it so the PSU can support the new video card I am going to buy. I was looking at this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703016 for my new PSU and I was just wondering if this can fit into my Dell Dimension e510? I don't want to buy it then find out that it does not fit into my case.
On a side note, do you guys think that the new 500W PSU will support this video card? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150316
Any help will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

When I installed the nVidia GeForce GT 730 video card in my E510 I replaced the stock OEM PSU with the Corsair CX430M "modular" PSU. Modular PSUs are preferable because you're only required to use the cables that your system needs. So there is no need to stuff unwanted, unused cables into your tower, which takes up space and inhibits air flow.
To figure out exactly how much power I needed and to verify that the Corsair that I purchased would suffice I used a PSU calculator. Cooler Master has an excellent PSU calculator. You simply enter all of your hardware information into the calculator and it will tell you exactly what you need. I found this calculator to be extremely useful and it guaranteed that I got precisely what I needed.
