Welcome.:emotion-1: We can try a few things, but depending on the type of infection(s) that you have, you might end up reformatting.

* NOTE:  If you cannot connect to the internet using Safemode with Networking, you will need to have access to a clean computer so you can transfer tools and logs using a USB stick or CD.

Let's try scanning with MBAM.  If you cannot use Safemode with Networking to connect, see if you can use a friend's or family member's computer to download MBAM. Use the update link mentioned below to manually update. Once downloaded, rename the program installer "mbam-setup.exe" file to something else like "peaselook.exe". Copy the installer file and the update file to a CD or flash drive. Transfer the file to the infected computer. Install the "peaselook.exe" file, then run the update so that you will have the current definitions. After that, run a full system scan and select to have the program REMOVE whatever it finds.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.
alternate download link 1
alternate download link 2

  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
  • Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
  • When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Then click Finish.

MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.

  • If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself.
  • Press the OK button to close that box and continue.
  • If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates,
  • manually download them from here
and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
Alternatively, you can update through MBAM's interface from a clean computer,
copy the definitions (rules.ref) located in
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes'
Anti-Malware from that system to a usb stick or CD and then copy it to the infected machine.

On the Scanner tab:

  • Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
  • Then click on the Scan button.
  • If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
  • The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top.
  • It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
  • When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully.
  • Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.

Back at the main Scanner screen:

  • Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy the report to a USB stick or CD so it can be transferred to the computer that you can get online with.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report into your next reply in this thread and exit MBAM.

Note:-- If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,
you may be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process.
Regardless if prompted to restart the computer or not, please do so immediately.
Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

-- MBAM may make changes to your registry as part of its disinfection routine.
If you're using other security programs that detect registry changes (like Spybot's Teatimer),
they may interfere with the fix or alert you after scanning with MBAM.
Please disable such programs until disinfection is complete or permit them to allow the changes.

**If you need to re-install MBAM but encounter issue in re-installing, try using the MBAM Cleanup Utility by downloading it from HERE

Yes, I am able to connect to the Internet now.  I have not posted this issue in another forum.  The computer belongs to me.  Just an FYI-I did run the malware thing one more time after I last posted this log and there were two other issues that came up and were fixed.  Let me know if you want me to post that log as well.

Thanks

I am reviewing your log. In the meantime, you can help me by addressing the following:

* Have you have posted this issue on another forum? If so, please provide a link to the topic.

* If you have disabled System Restore in an attempt to begin cleaning malware, please enable it now. We will flush System Restore when we are finished cleaning and we are sure that everything is running smoothly.

* If you are using any cracked software, please remove it. Definition of cracked software HERE.

* If you are using any P2P (file sharing) programs, please remove them before we clean your computer.  The nature of such software and the high incidence of malware in files downloaded with them is counter productive to restoring your PC to a healthy state. That includes BitTorrent and similar programs. There is a list HERE.

* If this computer belongs to someone else, do you have authority to apply the fixes we will use?

* As we continue working, please print or copy all instructions to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out procedures. Please follow all instructions in sequence. Do not, on your own, install/re-install any programs or run any fixes or scanners that you have not been instructed to use because this may cause conflicts with the tools that I am using. Please note that these fixes are not instantaneous. Most infections require more than one round to properly eradicate.

* During the course of our cleanup please do not do any additional online work or surfing until we have verified that your system is clean.

* We may be using some specialized tools during our fix. Certain embedded files that are part of legitimate programs or specialized fix tools such as process.exe, restart.exe, SmiUpdate.exe, reboot.exe, ws2fix.exe, prcviewer.exe and nircmd.exe may at times be detected by some anti-virus/anti-malware scanners as a "RiskTool", "Hacking tool", "Potentially unwanted tool", or even "malware (virus/trojan)" when that is not the case. Such programs have legitimate uses in contexts where an authorized user or administrator has knowingly installed it. These detections do not necessarily mean the file is malware or a bad program. It means it has the potential for being misused by others. Anti-virus scanners cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert you or even automatically remove them.

Instructions posted for this user are customized for this user only. The tools used may cause damage if used on a computer with different infections. If you think you have similar problems, please post a log at the top of this board to start a new forum topic.

We may need to run another tool. Are you able to connect to the internet with that computer?

I'll let you know later if I need to see that log. Thanks.

I do need to see some additional information about what is happening in your machine.

  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool.
  • Click Yes at the prompt for Optional Scan.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs
  • 1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt

  • Save both reports to your desktop.
  • Copy/paste both logs to your reply on the forum.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
  • Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet. Information on A/V control HERE.

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running ComboFix:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

" * Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply  for further review.

Notes:

1. Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

2. Do not "re-run" Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.

3. ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.

4. Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you -- please tell your helper.

5. CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

* Additional information on A/V control HERE. * ComboFix is not intended for use with servers.

Hi, I am having trouble disabling my A/V software, it is McAfee.  I followed the link noted above and there is not an "Exit" when I right click on the M in the lower right corner.  Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks

Those are the only instructions I have, and I do not use McAfee..Try opening McAfee's Configuration. Can you disable it from there?

If that doesn't work, you might ask at McAfee's forums: http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/

I will need to write some script for you to run, but first, can you tell me if you ever had a Dutch version of XP on there?

No, I have never had a Dutch version of XP on my computer.  I do deal with translations for my work though.  Strange!

In that case we should have a file scanned.

First let's do this:

Disconnect from the internet....pull the plug!

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray.

Otherwise, they may interfere with running ComboFix.

Open Notepad and copy/paste the following text between the lines below.

Do not copy the dotted lines.

** Make sure you copy/paste ALL the text at once. Do not try to edit extra spaces.

It will copy correctly to Notepad if you highlight and copy as is.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

File::
c:\windows\SYSTEM32\doriyubi.dll
c:\windows\system32\safanipo.dll
c:\windows\SYSTEM32\kuzSniper.exe

Registry::
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\windows]
"AppInit_DLLs"=""

DDS::
BHO: {52706EF7-D7A2-49AD-A615-E903858CF284} - No File
TB: {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - No File
TB: {F0F8ECBE-D460-4B34-B007-56A92E8F84A7} - No File

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Save this as CFScript.txt

Photobucket

Referring to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe

You will be prompted to run Combofix again.

Follow the same instructions you did before for running ComboFix.

CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix while it is running. It may cause it to stall.

When finished, a log is produced here: C:\ComboFix.txt

Please submit a sample of this file:
c:\windows\opuc.dll

 to Virus Total –
 http://www.virustotal.com/

At the top of the page you will see:
Select file>Browse>Send
Just follow the prompts.
The submission will then be tested against many different AV vendors’ scanners.
That will give you an idea what it is and who recognizes it. In addition, unless told
otherwise, Virus Total will provide the sample to all participating vendors.

When you get the report, please post back the exact results along with the log from ComboFix.
