You can't. Just don't use the USB dongle.

That's bad (they wouldnt let me use the s... word) !

b/c they are pretty expensive and i am taking that if you get one without the receiver should be cheaper ....

How do you like your zt3000 ? I was close to getting that one instead of the I8600. But after all it's just as expensive and doesn't meet the specs of the I8600.

Thank you and take care !

Another thought..... Can i use a wireless mouse as well ? Would it connect to the TrueMobile 1400 card ? I guess not but i'm not sure....

Anyhow i would like to have a mouse with no cables and no receiver just the plain mouse.

Thanks!

My zt3000 is really nice, pretty much like the I8600 I think. I heard that the Compaq x1000 /hp zt3000 /hp nx7000 (they all are the same machine) can used the bluetooth mouse with their build-in bluetooth module without problem.

I look around the net for bluetooth mouse as well, as I would like to have a wireless mouse too. Seem like they all come in package, mouse with doggle. You can't buy them separated. Try look around ebay, maybe you can pick up a cheap one from there. Good luck.

The Bluetake bt500 mouse here:

reviewed here:

is the one I was thinking of getting. It looks nice, small, cheap (from e-bay) and comes without a dongle

I was worried that the Truemobile 300 card didn't support HID devices which this is though.

Does anybody know if this mouse will work with the internal card?

I am using the Wireless Optical Desktop from MS with my 8600.  I used the usb device during setup, but other than that I have been using it without the usb dongle for a while now.

I had/have some issues with the install, however.  It seems MS felt free to remove all of my other pointing device drivers, and now I cannot access any settings for my touchpad or joystick/nub...  I found that when I use the wireless mouse, (I guess this is what's happening...) 'fat finger/thumb' the touchpad and the cursor will jump to the last loction that the mouse pointer was at before i started typing.  Makes for plenty of frustration when typed text 'inserts itself' wherever it pleases...

Since the drivers/software for my DELL pointing devices are gone, I cannot modify settings or turn them OFF...  Not even showing up in Device Manager.

If anyone has any idea on how to rectify this (aside from trashing the whole thing-I've already contemplated-too much invested) please let me know...

Sad to hear that.

One thing good about my zt3000  is, it has a on/off button above the touchpad. I can turn off the touchpad when I type or using external mouse...
