Dual monitors using a 4-port KVM switch?

I have four PC's that are connected to a 4-port KVM switch. I works great but I would like to add a second monitor, so that with each PC I switch to, I can utilize dual monitors. Is this possible? Is it a simple as adding something like a 'splitter' in the video lines before the KVM switch?

We do not test our monitors with KVM switches. A splitter would only create a clone of the first monitor, not an extended desktop on both monitors.
