If you print a settings page from the control panel, is any IP address listed? Is this IP address in the same Address range as that which the router provides? The first 3 octets should be the same as your router gateway address. (for example: 192.168.1.xxx)

You may also want to try clearing the network settings on your printer. Try this:
1. Press the Menu button.
2. Press the down button until Admin Menu appears, then press the enter button.
3. Press the down button until Wired Network is displayed, then press the enter button.
4. Press the down button until Reset LAN appears, then press the enter button.
5. When the Are you sure? message appears on the operator panel, press the enter button.
The display momentarily indicates Initializing..., followed by Initialized, followed by Restart Printer to apply setting. The display returns to Wired Network and Reset LAN.
6. Turn the printer off, wait a few moments, and then turn the printer on.
7. After a few minutes, print another settings page to see if the printer acquired an IP address (assuming you're connected to a DHCP source)

Unfortunately, the procedure above did not work for me. As with the previous poster, my network card is not responding at all to the router. My other network printer works well from the exact same port. I tried all the usual remedies, i.e. changing cables, ports, hubs etc. , but to no avail. The printer still is not recognized by the network. I can print directly from my printer using USB; however, I did purchase this printer to use as a network printer. Any other possible suggestions for remedy would be appreciated. I would even consider getting a new network card, but the original is attached to the printer's motherboard, so I'm not sure it can be replace. Thank you.

I note that JFD118x never replied.....

BTW..... do you have a 3110cn or 3130cn? (this will work for both) Need to know so I can recommend the correct part number.

Since you indicate that network settings reset did not work, all the is left to try is a Factory Default reset:
1.  Power off and disconnect ALL cables, EXCEPT the power cable
2.  Press and HOLD the Menu, Left, and Right buttons while powering the unit on
3.  CONTINUE to hold all 3 buttons until the display indicates "Diagnosing..."
4.  AT the Developer/CE Password prompt, press UP twice, then press the check-mark (enter) button
5.  Press the Down button until "Installation Set" is displayed, then press enter
6.  Press the Down button until "NVM Init" is displayed, then press enter
7.  At the "OK" confirmation, press enter
8.  Wait until the display indicates "Initialized", pwr off the unit, wait 5 secs, then pwr on
9.  As the unit restarts, there will be additional initializing messages, then the printer should report ready to print.
10. Re-connect the cables then test.

BTW..... don't play around in this mode. You can seriously impact the printers operation.

Good luck !!

I recall a post where the gentleman indicated this restored his network functionality. This procedure is not supposed to do that, but it's something else to try. If it works, great. Anyway, it's worth a shot and doesn't hurt anything.

All this procedure is supposed to do is reset a "panel lock password":
1.  Power off the unit
2.  Press and hold the Menu button while powering on the unit
3.  Continue to press the Menu button until the LCD indicates "Diagnosing...", then release
4.  The LCD indicates "Init Password", "Are You Sure", press the check-mark (enter) button
5.  The LCD indicates "Yes" or "No",  press the left arrow to select "Yes" then press enter
6.  The password is reset to 0000 allowing you access to disable, or set a new password

OK, I hope my post was not intruding on this topic.

I'm not sure which procedure I'm supposed to apply, the first one mentioned above of this one. For me, the issue is for a 3110cn. Also, I have no idea about "passwords." I hope you are speaking about the Status Monitor Console where I have a password. If there is one on the printer, i.e. "panel lock password," I know nothing of it.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to reply. I appreciate your assistance.

All right, I tried BOTH procedures as mentioned and neither worked. The Status Monitor Console reads that the computer to the network, but the STATUS is showing as "unkknown." FYI   Do you thing it may be the card itself? Also, I noticed on one of your other posts you asked if the computer was plugged into a switch or hub. I have tried both and changed the cables from the switch to the router as well. FYI

I would appreciate any other ideas/thoughts that you might have. Thank you.

It really sounds like the system control boards been "toasted". This is NOT typical of these. The part you need is UG079, the "ESS" control board.

Just to double-check, you don't see any network activity lights at the printer's network connection when a live cable is plugged in?

Yes, I do get a network green light (upper left to the plug-in opening) when I plug in a cable but nothing happens. The amber light (upper right) does not light up at all. Seems like we have a hot connection but the status console says "unknown" and I can't print a test page on the network from any computer. Thanks for the part number. I'll check with my local repair guy and see what's up with costs and replacement issues.  Regards.
