Charles,

 

Just glad you got a happier PC and also glad you posted back. I wonder, make a system restore point first. Then try uninstalling IE7 and maybe you'll even have IE6 back. You might be even happier. If it doesn't work and you have issues with this, then use the system restore point to come back to where you are now.
