I am having this same problem. I have installed the approrpriate drivers, but my WiFi indicator light is dark and the F2 will not toggle the card back on. Any ideas?
First I have to thank rumblin7 for reposting to my query of 3 months ago to stimulate some conversation here, and to Bay Wolf for the helpful tip on QuickSet. Unfortunately, QuickSet does not seem to include any settings for the F2 wireless toggle. My system immediately started crashing once I installed the version for the 9200 so I uninstalled it. Thanks for responding however.
Can you get into the BIOS setup to see if the wireless is turned off?
Oh turning the wireless on is not the issue, at times when I plug in or setup software I want the wireless off temporarily. At the moment I have to disable the connection or disconnect from the router.

You need to download Dell's "QuickSet" and install it.
Here's a quick run down of what QuickSet does.

What if I want to install an operating system other than Windows? Is there an open source equivalent to QuickSet?

I do not know of a program that will do this other than QuickSet.

obi-bob,

Just a thought.

You know, this may be as simple as looking for a keyboard driver. I believe I let XP load a standard driver. Any thoughts on this approach?
