TS-H653B with Roxio: Unable to burn a DVD or CD

I had successfully burned DVD a few months ago. But now, when I use Roxio (9.0.116) to burn a DVD and click 'Burn', the drive drop-down menu is empty with a comment below "Drive is empty". I tried with 3 different DVD-Rs with same result.

My OS is Win XP Professional.

My Windows Explorer shows 2 drives (D and E) as 'CD Drive', even though I have just 1 drive: DVD +-RW drive TS-H653B.

I had uninstalled the driver with no luck. Then, I read the forum and downloaded the driver from R169271.EXE. Again, no luck.

I also wanted to share that existing DVDs can now be played properly only with PowerDVD. If I try to play the same DVD with Windows Media Player, the video plays well; but there is NO audio. There is no audio also when I play an audio CD using Windows Media Player. However, I can hear the audio when I use the Windows Media Player to play any MP3 file from my Hard Disk.

So, while I am OK with watching DVDs in PowerDVD, I am stuck with 2 problems: cannot burn a DVD or a CD; and cannot hear an audio CD.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help.

UPDATE ON MY PREVIOUS POST

After the posting, I had a suspicion, and checked the Property of my drive from the Device Manager. There, I noted it was still the old driver, instead of the driver of 2007, that I thought I had installed. So, when I tried to reinstall the driver by double-clicking SFDNWIN3.27.11.exe (extracted from R169271.EXE), a message came up "Drive Not Found"
