Nope. Your monitor would go back to the manufacturer for Failure Analsis.

That is very bad. So can I let them take my monitor to repair and then send it back to me? Because at least I know my monitor doesn't have dead pixels and it's only 5 month old. I just don't want to end up getting a 2 year old refurbished/used monitor as replacement.

So they going to just give me a 2nd hand replacement and then take my monitor away? What if the replacement have dead pixels? And how do I check how old is the replacement? Because It wouldn't be fair if I buy a brand new monitor and it's dead after 5month then you give me a 2 year old repaired monitor.

I paid for a New monitor and It didn't work like it should be for at least 3 years. I think dell should either get it repaired or give me a new one instead of just give me a 2nd hand monitor replacement.

Please have a look at ACCC's website

http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/815360

I really like the 3008wfp it's the 2nd best monitor I've used. And I do plan to buy more dell monitors and recommend it to my customers. But I don't think I will if this is the way how dell deals with their warranty.

What if the replacement have dead pixels?
* There are two different categories of sub-pixel defects:
Bright Dot defect - A sub-pixel that is permanently white, red, green, or blue on a black background. 1 or more, replace the monitor.
Dark Dot defect - A sub-pixel that is permanently black on a white background. 6 or more, replace the monitor.

And how do I check how old is the replacement?
* The monitor PPID number can tell us when it was manufactured.

Please have a look at ACCC's website
http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/815360
* You would have to debate this with Dell Australia Support. We are not bound by this type of legislation in Texas.

Could you please link me where do I see the Dark dot defect pixel info? Because it was not on the premium panel guaranty page.

And my current monitor doesn't have bright or dark dot. It is just something wrong with the power and wouldn't power up. That's why I don't want a repaired 2nd hand monitor as a replacement because most likely they will have either bright or dark dot pixels.

Can't live without your monitor? You're covered with Advanced Exchange Service1 from Dell.
Your Dell monitor includes all the benefits of Dell's toll-free technical phone support ( standard business hours ) and Advanced Exchange Service1. If your issue can't be resolved after phone-based troubleshooting, Dell will ship you a replacement part or unit the next business day. Unpack your new unit, ship back the defective one, and continue to enjoy the power of your Dell monitor.

I was suppose to get a monitor the next business day. And in your advertisement. It does say new unit.

Also I sent the email on 14/09/2009 requesting warranty now it's 17th.  Aren't I suppose to get a monitor next business day? Isn't that what I paid for?

* The Next day Service would begin after you had conversed with a technician and they had setup the exchange. Not from when you sent the email. As to why they have not responded, I do not know. Understand, I am in the Americas so I cannot issue your exchange. You should call into Support to speed up the replacement.

When you select buy and then edit where you select 3 year 4 year and 5 year warranty. then click on help me choose link.

And there is nothing that mention about dark pixel policy in there. only talk about bright. And the dark dot defect pixel info is so hard to find. I mean it's really hard to find. I can not find it until you link it to me.

I called dell support but got redirected to Malaysia. But they will get someone to call me back I requested email me back as well.

I don't think I am getting the service as dell advertised. Just doesn't seem fair to me.

What makes it more unfair is. I was suppose to get next day replacement. But I was told I have to wait because they don't have a 2nd hand monitor in the warehouse. And they don't know when they will have a 2nd hand one. Does this sound fair to you?

Haven't receive a call or email from dell yet. I've requested dell to send me email responds to explain what's taking so long and why I am getting a 2nd hand monitor as replacement. But it seems dell don't want to put them in writing.

And as I look for more info on the internet I found this.

http://consumerist.com/tag/dell/

What dell is doing is illegal in my country.

I just hope to get a new monitor back or refund. And dell did advertise the premium service is next business day service. If you can't provide the service you advertised for then you should give full refund. ihad to buy a extra samsung monitor just because dell's next business day service is taking so long.

Could you give me dell's office number in Australia or email to contact? Because everytime I call dell I get redirected to another country.

Since I can't find Australia dell's contact number. And dell doesn't want to provide that information. I sent a email in http://support.ap.dell.com/support/topics/topic.aspx/ap/shared/support/dellcare/en/outstanding_issues_tech?c=au&l=en&s=gen to request a responds.

Dell's next business day warranty is taking a week.

If I don't get a reply by 22nd I am going to lodge a complaint to fair trading.
