In the USA they are trying to clear out the 2408WFP 24"WS Samsung S-PVA (LTM240CS05) before releasing the U2410 24"WS LG.Display H-IPS (LM240WU4) to sell.

Hi Chris,

It seems to me that the 2408 and 2410 are not really competitors.  Personally, I wouldn't even consider buying the PVA panel, and I've been sticking with my old 20" IPS waiting for a long time for Dell to release a 24" IPS.  I was about to buy an HP LP2475 before I saw Dell would be coming out with the 2410.  If the 2410 isn't released soon, I may end up buying the HP anyway.  I hope you'll pass this thought along to your market folks, because I'd love to buy this monitor soon!

I have to agree their. I was waiting and waiting for Dell to release a 24 inch IPS panel and they finally did, everywhere but here that it :-) And this waiting to bring the 2408 stock down is a dumb move IMO. Because just like the poster above me, I'll probably end up getting the HP, because it could be weeks or months before the stock of the 2408 goes down. I think Dell will lose alot of customers that are waiting or on the fence about weather to get the Dell or HP...

Hello Chris,

This policy of Dell’s for the United States does not make sense, as in other marketing regions they are sold “side by side”, notably Hong Kong.

In fact in Hong Kong, the introductory price of the U2410 is about 5% lower than the same 2408WFP selling on the same site!  Or close to about $ 500.00 dollars US.

As you know the HP LP2475w uses the same LGD IPS panel, and is routinely sold through web sellers for about $ 500.00, though HP did allow a few “test market” sales in the last month that were close to $ 400.00, so Dell US is going to have to be real aggressive with pricing in the US on the U2410.

Any idea when the (Dell US) will at least start pricing the U2410 on a quote or via the web site?  And best projection as to US availability?

Also Chris would wish to comment further on the rumored U2710?

Thanks,

Tim

I am going to need a new 24 " monitor in 6-9 months. I hope the U2410 is an improvement in quality to the 2407.

I agree with you guys, but, I am only in Technical Support. I can send your thoughts to Marketing. I have not seen anything internally about the U2710.

I asked Sales and there is not a program like this.

Anything new about when the U2410 will be available? I'm planning on ordering it as soon as it is available. Is there a way I can sign up somewhere to be notified when it comes out? Thanks!

Well for what it is worth I gave up waiting for the U2410.  I needed new IPS monitors now, so I ended up purchasing other monitors.  I am also selling my 2407WFP to someone else who is no longer waiting for the U2410.

So by my count, three less U2410 monitors are going to be sold now.

Might want to push the idea of selling the U2410 side-by-side with the 2408WFP, otherwise I think there will a lot of people in the US that will purchase elsewhere.

The same goes for me. I couldn't wait any longer so I got the Doublesight 26 inch H-IPS monitor for $449. This is after I spoke with a Dell sales rep who said and I quote "Dell is looking at a November time frame for a release of the U2410" that was all I needed to hear. Too bad really....

Good news everyone, the U2410 is available for purchase! I think it just started today...

Just bought 2 of these yesterday with a 20% off coupon ($479.20 each).  I hope they serve me as well as my 2001FP has all these years.
