That's the thing, I don't want to take out the motherboard. I've built desktop before but I've never disassembled laptops before. But from the images I've seen, the discreet card took the place of the slot... IF I decide to get to that route, will it void my warranty? and how hard is it?

HERE are the instructions for removing the motherboard.
You might be able to send it to Dell but it will not be a free cost and you may end up with more problems then you need..
