If the green light is going out on the power adapter. Then the first thing I would do is replace the power adapter or try it with a known good power adapter if you have access to one.
Thanks. I did do that and the same thing happened. As soon as I plus the adapter into the laptop, the light on the adapter goes out. It appears thathat something on the motherboard must have fried.
If you replaced the A/C adapter then yes you could have an issue with the motherboard. You could try removing parts and see if you can get a post beep. Remove cdrom drive, expresscard, battery, memory and see if the power light still goes out. If the light still goes out then you will need a motherboard replacement.
