2408wfp and PS3 and HTIS100 no sound, handshake issue?

Question

hi I hope someone can help: I have a PS3 slim 120gb hooked up to a sony HTIS100 using hdmi.  the HTIS100 is output to the 2408WFP via hdmi. I turn on HTIS100 and then PS3: screen on HTIS100 indicates it is recieving signal from PS3 via hdmi and PCM audio (with 2.0 sound).  I now get sound from HTIS100. turn on 2408WFP next, HTIS100 no longer shows hdmi or PCM audio on screen .  I lose sound from HTIS100 but get video to 2408WFP. I try different combinations of turning on and off and get same issue-video outputs to monitor but no sound. one thing to note.  I have also tried to use the 2408wfp standalone with the PS3 with hdmi.  I get video but still no sound.  Same issue as well when i hook up a toshiba SD-K980- video outputs fine but no audio I aslo connect a samsung DTB-H260F HD tv tuner via hdmi to the HTIS100 and manage to get audio from HTIS100 and video to 2408wfp.  this is the only successful connection i can get. Is this a handshake issue with the 2408wfp and the HTIS100 or a problem with the hdmi on the 2408wfp.

* Connect the PS3 HDMI out cable directly to the 2408WFP HDMI in port
* Power on the 2408WFP and make sure the OSD (On Screen Display)- Input Source is set to HDMI
* Power on the PS3
* Select Settings- Sound Settings
* Select Audio Output Settings
* Select HDMI
* Select Audio Output Formats
* Select all Output Formats that are available
* Save your PS3 settings
* Start a game and check for audio

I still was unable to get this to work. I have never been able to get sound from the HDMI port, could this be an issue that could be resolved by replacing the monitor.

I doubt it. You can get a replacement from Order Support sent out and try it. If the replacement has the same issue, then you know the fault is not the monitors.
