Upon closer inspection I'm not sure if it is actually a pixel/panel problem or some debris/dirt caught between the panel and the covering. Is there any easy way to differentiate between the two?
Hi, thanks for the reply, i had some difficulty actually capturing it, wither due to my poor camera, poor camera skills or both! Pictures either came out with a moire pattern or too bright, hopefully this actually shows the problem enough, let me know and i'll have another attempt if needed.
Get it replaced. If you only have a monitor order number, you should contact UK Order Support. If your monitor was purchased tied to a Dell PC, you should contact UK Technical Support. They will need the following data - Name: Email Address: Shipping address: Phone number: Monitor Order number or PC Service Tag number if purchased with a PC: Monitor 20 digit PPID number found on the back on a label or on the slider card on the left rear: Operating system: Video card: Video card ports tested: Reason: 2209WA Pixel Defect
I have the same problem as hwmax (I'm starting to see that this is a common problem with the IPS panels from LG, i.e. this panel by Dell and HP 24" IPS panels). When I received my 2209wa the 1st week of September, it had 3 specks of dirt in the lower right corner, but since then the specks have multiplied and there are now approx. 30 specks of different sizes scattered throughout the panel and some of them move around each time I turn the monitor on (it appears that the panel is not sealed properly). Besides the hassle that I would have to exchange the panel, I'm also scared to send the panel back, because I would probably get one that has a stuck pixels, has the same problem or some other problem, so I'll just keep this one until I get fed-up with it and throw it out and get PVA panel from Samsung. (Note: this assuming that there is no easy way to get the dirt out without voiding the warr., if there is please let me know!)
I sent an email to support on the 18th and it was passed on to technical support where i was asked some details which i gave, i have still not had any sort of real help as of yet, does it usually take this long?
