Any way I can get 1920X1080 resolution on my Inspiron 700m?

I bought a Dell S2409W monitor to use with my Inspiron 700m laptop, but can't use the highest resolution setting because my graphics card (Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME) doesn't support it. Is there any way I can get that 1920X1080 resolution? I tried a Tritton SEE2 Extreme UV200 external video card, and it works for surfing the Web or viewing photos or documents but the screen freezes when I try to stream video. If in the Display menu, under Monitor, I uncheck the box labeled 'Hide modes that this monitor cannot display,' the 1920X1080 resolution appears (along with many others). Is there any risk doing this to use my S2409W monitor on the 1920X1080 resolution? Or do I just have to remember to change the monitor settings to a supported resolution when I switch back to my laptop display? Input would be appreciated!

The risk will not be to your monitor it will be to your video card. If you get any video at all it will most likely be distorted and you will be causing the the chip to work hard which will in turn cause it to run hot and most likely lead to premature death.
