Resolution that high needs a dual-link DVI port, which the notebook doesn't have.  I don't think any of the D-docks do either - so if you want to drive that monitor at that resolution, you'll need a more capable notebook.

If you have a full Dell dock with a separate video card, maybe - if you're driving it from the notebook's video chip, no.

At that, I don't think any of the D-series docks have dual-link DVI - they're all single-link.

Pretty ridiculous that my post was deleted because I said "no ifs, ands or but.s"

Ok, I have upgraded to a Dell Vostro 1720....

Still can't seem to get the Full HD 1920x1080 resolution on my 24" monitor. Help????

The max I can get is still 1440x900.

Surely this new Dell can support it.

There are two types of Vostro 1720 -

Maximum resolutions =
WXGA+ w/anti-glare 1440x900 with 18-bit color (262K)
WUXGA with TrueLife 1920X1200 with 18-bit color (262K)

I was talking about the resolution on the monitor when hooked up to my Dell ST2410 24" Monitor.

I fixed the problem. When I closed the lid on the laptop, the resolution adjusted to 1920 on my monitor :)
