Things you could try are
System Restore (Page 52 of the Inspiron 1750 Setup Guide)
Post on the DVD Board
Run Dell Diagnostics (Page 47 of the Inspiron 1750 Setup Guide)
Use Factory Image Restore (Page 53 of the Inspiron 1750 Setup Guide)

Thanks. I don't have the computer with me right now, but I'll try those options when I get it later today. I think the first thing I'll do is check events to see if there is some kind of problem code.
