Kevin,

Sometimes firewalls and virus programs block installation. What type of firewall and virus program are you using?

Make and model of your computer with Windows 7 is also helpful.

Did you try installing the printer using the instructions located at...

968 & 968w All-In-One Printer owners thread (W7)

Kevin,

The Windows 7 drivers, if you look closely and compare, like I did, are actually the Vista drivers.  Some might even be the XP drivers, too. So trying to install the drivers in the compatibility mode is a start. Did you click on the answer no the printer did not install properly question after installing the drivers in Windows 7?

Do you have anything like an AMD USB Audio Driver Filter or NVIDIA's Network Access Manager installed?

Looks like MS Security Essentials might be the problem CLICK HERE for more information. I use FREE Avast Home Edition and have no problems with my printer communicating with my computers.

Hi Rick thanks for the answers however

I do not have AMD USB driver filter or NVIDIA's NAM installed.

I have the printer installed via USB currently and still no FAX Printer listed in my printers, also I have to add that these same drivers and same machine had everything working via USB and or Wireless not two weeks ago, My wife uninstalled my drivers by not paying attention when she went to uninstall a game.

When I went to reinstall this issue came up.

This is frustrating me to no end.

Kevin,

Other members have the 968 printer working with Windows 7, so we know it does work. I still think you issues is with MS Essentials Security.

Since installing security essentials I canot print anything and I believe the firewall has my printer blocked out but I don't know how to unblock it. Please help!!

Hi Rick,

I think you may misunderstand my problem, I have no issues installing the printer and getting it to work both usb and wireless. I can print and scan and all that goodness, however I cannot print to fax anymore. Before the messup in word I could choose to print to pdf, printer, or fax... now I cannot. I can print to paper or pdf only the fax option is missing...

On a lark I uninstalled MSE and tried all your posted methods again to no avail, heck I even booted windows into unsigned mode incase that was the issue and even that failed miserably both wired(USB) and wireless.

I am about to go all office space on this printer.
