3008 WFP aspect ratio problem

Hi, I recently purchased a 3008 WFP 30' monitor (rev. A02) and have a question for anyone in the know: Yesterday I plugged my Wii into the monitors component connection and realised it was displaying the image full screen without any bars on the top and bottom, as in 16:10 rather than 16:9. Cycling through the options in the Display Settings 'Wide Mode' I found 1:1 gave the results you would expect, Fill gave the full screen image and Aspect gave me a squashed 4:3 image with horizontal bars down the side. What I want is a 16:9 image with slim letterboxing on the top and bottom. Powercyling things and resetting the factory defaults hasn't done anything, I haven't had a chance to try anything else in this port yet but will do so this evening. I was wondering whether anyone else has experienced this? I'm assuming what I want to achieve is possible.   Thanks for your help!

I have a PS3 hooked up via HDMI and Aspect gives me the correct 16:9 image displayed with black bars top and bottom. Switching to my Mac on the Displayport connection  displays correctly at 16:10 without any change. You might need to tell the Wii what aspect ratio to output in its own setup menus.
