If by chance your wireless network is set to turn off SSID broadcast, the network can not be seen unless the correct wireless network name (SSID) and password are correctly input into your system. :emotion-55:
Dave, I will give that a try. I did run diagnostic on the card though, and it passed.
Also, I have tried to manually connect to the network I want. I entered the properties that came up on the connection with my netbook, and the key, and it still couldn't find it. Thanks though.
Edit: Nope. Tried safe mode with networking, still couldn't find any networks. Also tried connecting manually again in safe mode. Nothing.
I have a very similar problem with my XPS Studio 13 Laptop. I can connect to my router and the wifi, but only if I take the laptop next to it, min 1 m distance. If I walk a bit away, 3 m the connection is very low (only one green thingy). I have a brand new router, which got even changed, becasue I though its the router.... but it seems to be the laptop, because my I phone works perfectly, even 10m away...anybody a hint?
i also have a similar problem with my B120. I have to be about 3 feet from my router. I had reinstalled Windows SP2. but before i did it had a virus and wouldn't connect at all... i really wish i can be in a normal room and connect to the internet. it sucks
I had same issue, along with many others with this latop. Laptop replaced twice, monitor replaced three times, wifi card replaced twice etc.... Dell didnt fix wireless issue, though it was one of the problems throughout ordeal. I found if I used the wwan connectors on wifi card it worked perfectly. Give it a try and good luck. Please say hello to everyone in customer support, I have conversed with all of them!

Your wireless card could still be bad.
Try booting into Safemode with network support and see if you can find and connect in Safe Mode
