Why don't you ask your IT guy which USB wireless device is compatible and buy that? Use it when you are work; remove it when you are home.

At the company I used to work, the routers weren't open access. So, if yours is the same way, I am not sure how you propose to get on them without a username and password from the IT folks?

I do have the security key witch allows me to connect wireless but  the signal status keeps reading "acquiring newtwork address". I remember the IT guy told me my signal kept sending out an error and not communicating with the access point  and that's were the issue was. Everything was good with the connections on both ends and it was my adapter that was at fault. That's the best he could tell me

So that's lead  me to believe it was my adapter and wondering if anyone knew witch update, if there's one, would fix the problem.

Once again thanks.

I suggest that since your IP folks aren't allowed to help that you contact Checkpoint.com and see if they are any more helpful.

Or find someone with a company-issued laptop and find out what it is using.
