memory write/read failure at 00040044 try reseat the memory Dell Inspiron 1525

Question

Hi All!  I am trying to fix my wife's laptop.  She tried to turn on her computer and she is receiving this message before windows starts up:  memory write/read failure at 00040044, read 04CB04EB EXPECTING 04EB04EB to resolve this issue, try reseat the memory.  I have reseated the memory four times only to receive this message again.  Can anyone help me please????  Thank you in advance for any ideas.   Gator

It could be a bad stick. Try booting with just one stick in it a time.
