Solution for people with same problem: 1. Download catalyst 9.4 for xp and mobility modder 2. unpack drivers and don't install it 3. run mobilty modder and correct drivers 4. Check VENDOR ID of your not recognized VGA card (in hardware manager -> details) and copy it\ It wil something similar to: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2772&SUBSYS_D0001458&REV_02\3&13C0B0C5&0&10 5. Edit CX_78234.inf file from XP_INF directory & find line with ATI MOBILITY RADEON 4650 6. replace that PCI\VEN with that taken from 3. 7. run setup.exe 8. If you see warning (something about uncertified drivers) - it's OK 9. Restart your laptop Any questions:

Hello, I am having exactly the same problem except that I cannot find MOST of the drivers. Can you please send me an e-mail with those? I will highly appreciate it because my job depends on it.

Thanks!

Ok guys. On monday I will backup downloaded drivers from the laptop and I will upload it on rapidshare. But you must check content yourself, i don't have to time do digg inside that package. I downloaded sooo many drivers, but it's complete collection I think and you will find whatever you need.

Thanks. One surprising thing I found it is that some of the Win 7 drivers worked, but for the ATI is saying about Microsoft Framework 2.0. As soon as I update my machine, will let you know.

Firstly, use NLITE to integrate AHCI text-mode drivers. Details here: http://tinyurl.com/ahci-dell-1747 Modified ATI drivers: http://rapidshare.com/files/347611163/9-4_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu.zip Network drivers: I will upload drivers package later (with all of drivers)

i can't find or install driver for IDT 92HD73C audio driver.

These you mean :emotion-55:

Those are the only IDT drivers for Windows 7 64bit listed on the Studio 1747 'Drivers & Downloads' page, so I don't know where you were looking for them?

TheRealFireblade, Yes ,you are right for the studio 1747 but i've found that some inspiron models have the same IDT sound manufacturer and have also driver for XP. I've tried to use those but all fails.

I too have recently taken delivery of a 1747 and must replace W7 with XP in order to run work related apps & utilities.

Before I trash the W7 system I have been rounding up all the necessary drivers and steps for getting XP up and running quickly.

I've taken note of the info and links in this thread but was wondering if I could I ask for an e-mail summary of the key steps and links to drivers so that I don't overlook anything.

Many thanks in advance for this help.  I only hope that I can return the favor someday in the not too distant future for another needy soul. :emotion-1:

I have found the necessary drivers (AHCI, video, network) and methods of installation to successfully install Windows XP 64 bit on Dell Studio 1747 laptop.  I am having trouble finding the sound drivers.  I will write up an instruction list this afternoon when I have some time.  In the mean time, if anyone has any luck with getting the sound going, please please let me know.  Thanks muchly.
