FastAccess Facial Recognition doesn't work with Firefox

Hello everyone, I have installed the FastAccess facial recognition software and got it working alright in Windows 7 64-bit. The web access function works perfectly with Internet Explorer 8 but personally I avoid IE like the plague. However I got dissapointed when I realized it won't integrate with Mozilla Firefox. Does anyone know any tweak, addon, plugin or whatever workaround to get FastAccess working with Firefox? BTW I'm on Firefox 3.5.7 and have FastAccess 2.4.7 (which is really 2.004.007). That's the latest version my updater finds, but on the Sensible Vision's website there's mention of  version 2.4.43 (which is really 2.004.043, newer than mine) (http://www.sensiblevision.com/v/dell/win7.htm). I wonder if that one is any different in regards to this issue. Any help/comments will be appreciated.

Hi Diego,

I work for Sensible Vision - creators of FastAccess. I'm very glad that you're enjoying the software.

Integration with Firefox is in development currently. When it's done, it will be made available through the normal web update process as a new version of FastAccess. Unfortunately I don't know at this time the date when it will be released.

Don't worry about getting 2.004.043. It was a special release to correct a very specific and rare issue. If your copy of FastAccess is working correctly then you're not missing a thing by running 2.004.007.

Thank you very much for the prompt response. It's good to see you guys care about your customers, I just hope it's not too long before the update comes out.

I'm glad, I've found this post!

I was worried already..., because in my case it's the same!

Is the date of the new realease known by now?

I really don't like the IE...

Thx in advance!

Firefox support is now complet and slated to be released by Dell with version 3.xxx.xxx of FastAccess. The specific date and other details surrounding that release are being worked out with Dell currently.

Hi,

This would be brilliant, really great, however the trail seems to have gone a bit cold. Any update on release date and how to get it please?

No update, sorry. The answer is still the same as my post from May 10th. The feature is complete and will be available in the next major upgrade to FastAccess (version 3.X). The timing of the release of that upgrade is being worked through with Dell currently.

Any word on when the update will be coming out  with the feature to use FastAccess with Firefox?  There are many users that operate with Firefox as their primary browser and I feel as though we're not getting the full use of software we purchased with FastAccess / Dell just sitting on this update.

Sensible Vision (FastAccess is the software, Sensible Vision is the company) has provided to Dell an update of FastAccess that includes Firefox support. Depending on Dell's release schedule, this version should be available in the next few months.

I apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate that this line of inquiry means that the web login feature of FastAccess is apparently very valuable to many people.

I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear earlier that I myself work for Sensible Vision. We are currently working with Dell to do whatever is possible to expedite their release schedule. Your desires are both noted and valued. If we can find any way to get this functionality to people more quickly then we will certainly make all efforts to do so.

Thanks for your patience.

Where is this update? If it's ready, what are we waiting for Dell?

It's been 3 months since you've (SVREP) posted, and still not update from Dell. I've had this computer for over a years now, and I'm still waiting for this feature. If it is done, why not push it out on your (Sensible Vision's) website?

I understand the frustration and eagerness for this very nice feature. We continue to work with Dell to get this update released as soon as possible. Per our contract with Dell, we are not permitted to release software for Dell platforms on our own. As I'm sure you can understand, any software that Dell supports must be officially approved by them first. The approval process can often be long.

We look forward to providing this feature to our Dell customers ASAP.

Thanks for the reply svrep, it's clear to me at least you've done your bit. Except perhaps, would you be able to alert your contact at Dell to this post?

Would someone (anyone!) from Dell care to provide some detail on the release schedule please?
