fail in creating system recovery media

Question

I have recently purchased a laptop Inspiron 14R. Set up guide instructs to create System Recovery Media.  But my laptop creates problem.  It completes the 3 initial steps very well, but in the last step 'verification' it remains at 74% complete for a long time and ultimately an error message generates showing unable to create.  My 2 DVDs and a pen drive has been waste.  what to do?

Contact Dell with the exact error message. Is the flash drive large enough to hold the image?
