i just switched my router settings to channel 11 instead of "Auto", and so far it seems to have helped..thanks :D

hope that new channel continues to work... you are using WPA2 security and only connecting to your LAN, right?

what version wrt160n are you using? firmware ver?

it gets a pretty strong signal from the router, but just can't connect to the internet..and when it does, it's slow and usually only stays connected for short periods..

when you say you cannot connect well, do you mean low signal strength or it just won't connect?  The wrt160n has internal antennas so you might try repositioning the router in a different orientation or location.   If that does not help also try a different channel on the router.

Just think of it, like a radio/telivision signal. Line of sight for the best reception. I have my wireless router on the second floor(hidden) and all the units below can connect.
