I used the Comcast Spyware Scan powered by ca Pest Patrol.
I remember back in December I was trying to use the program PFConfig and I sought help from one of the creators and I think he had me use that program. I remember downloading it and using it but never going through with the final process at the end.
My computer doesn't seem to have any problems it just showed up when I did the normal routine scan.
Another question I have is how do I get rid of P2P virus called Grokster and Limewire. Those also showed up in the spyware scan.
Everything is still there, it seems that I can't find the files in the control panel and there is no UltraVNC file, but the rat thing keeps showing up.
It is possible that you no longer have these programs on your computer, and Pest Patrol is detecting only remnants left behind. I have to confess that I'm not a fan of security programs provided by ISPs, and have no knowledge of Pest Patrol.
If you wish to rule out the presence of active infection on your PC, I would suggest you run the following 2 free programs, and allow them to quarantine whatever they find:
I'm downloading the Eset applicant, I also ran a full system virus scan with my McAfee virus scanner and nothing even came up, so should I not worry about this.
I really hope so because a Dell guy I talked to today was trying to charge me $128 to clean the pc to get rid of it. So far the Eset is coming up clean.
In the 10 years I've been posting here, I can't recall a single instance where malware infection problems required resorting to Dell's paid support. All the help you need is right here in the forums, from other users, for free.
You might want to reconsider the value of using Pest Patrol, or any other security apps from Comcast. IMHO, there are better free security programs out there.

Hi mattbel123, and welcome to the forum:
Which spyware scan did you run?
Ultra VNC is software that allows your computer to share itself and control with another user.
Have you ever sought remote help from another user or support helper?
Are you having any problems with your system, or did this just show up with a routine scan?

P2P programs are a frequent source of infection, and are best removed. Grokster and Limewire can be removed by these instructions:
http://www.ehow.com/how_5095998_remove-grokster.html
http://www.ehow.com/how_2102919_delete-limewire.html
You should be able to uninstall UltraVNC using these instructions:
http://forum.ultravnc.info/viewtopic.php?t=11177
After removing them, run your anti-spyware and AV programs. Let us know what you find.

1) Eset's OnLine Scanner:

2) Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware scanner
Follow the instructions in this post by Bugbatter, relating to this program:

Wow amazing, scanned over 247,114 files and found no threats. I think I'm in the clear. Thanks for the help.

It smells like false positive detections by Pest Patrol to me too.
If the Eset and Malwarebytes' scans find nothing, I'd say you were clean.
