The Cintiq's own interface is DVI-I.

But the adapter cables give you an additional two choices to connect to - VGA and DVI-D.

Since your laptop has digitlal video outputs. You can safely eliminate VGA from the mix.

The next question is whether you want to connect using the mini-DisplayPort or HDMI.

I'd personally go with HDMI versus the miniDisplayPort.

I don't have the Cintiq. You should be talking to Wacom's tech support.

Hi and thank you so much for your advice!

However, I'm still getting conflicting information from various sites and I'm not sure which is correct:

I read that someone tried an HDMI to DVI-I adapter and it doesn't work due to copy protection. Is this true? http://forum.wacom.eu/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=50

And somewhere else, I read that the Mini DisplayPort to DVI-I adapter doesn't work in some cases. Many complained specifically about Apple's MDP to DVI-I adapter as seen here:

Does this mean a generic MDP to DVI-I won't work either? Again, my laptop isn't a Mac so do you think it will make a difference?

My other question is, do you think linking either an HDMI or MDP adapter to one of Cintiq's provided adapters will work? For instance, which of these would work?

HDMI to VGA adapter > Cintiq's VGA to DVI-I adapter > Cintiq
HDMI to DVI-D adapter > Cintiq's DVI-D to DVI-I adapter > Cintiq
Mini-DisplayPort to VGA adapter > Cintiq's VGA to DVI-I adapter > Cintiq
Mini-DisplayPort to DVI-D
adapter > Cintiq's DVI-D to DVI-I adapter > Cintiq

Sorry, I have limited knowledge about this, so my suggestions might not even be plausible. Still, any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!
