well i think this is battery issue ...if laptop is showing 99 percent battery then it should work ..you might need to replace it..but better ask for tech support otherwise your money might go in waste for purchasing new battery.I was facing same problem when i bought a refurbished laptop but changing battery worked for me.

Laptop batteries are good for about 500 discharge/charge cycles.  Sounds as if your battery is nearing the end of its life cycle.  In some units you will actually get a warning that the battery is nearing the end of its usable life.

Lint can build up in the heat sink cooling fins to the point that the cooling fan can not turn.  If this condition occurs, it can cause the fan to freeze up and require replacement.  I would suggest that you get a can of compressed air and blow out the cooling vents on the laptop's cabinet.  Replacement of the D810 fan(s) are described here:

Thanks for your helpful replies.  I have purchased a battery through Memory Express, and have a cooling fan on order from Dell.  I enjoyed taking the machine apart!  Johnny R
