Which monitor port are you using? What video card and port? What operating system? Have you tested the other monitor ports?

Hi Chris,

  • DVi 1 and 2 both display the problem.
  • The issue is intermittent
  • Power lead is fine and other connections seem stable.
  • I have tried other DVi cables with no joy - it persists.
  • My system is Mac Pro | 2x Quad 2.26 | 6GB | NVidia GT 120 (mini-display and DVi) | OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.4

Thanks for getting back,

Edit: Oh, and I haven't tried the other ports yet but I will and report back ASAP. That said, if I cannot get the DVI to work it is redundant for me anyway :-(

Also make sure the monitor power cord is directly into the wall socket.

Now that is an interesting one... So an extension cable is a no no?

I am just taking it out of the troubleshooting equation.

The problem is DEFINITELY the DVI connection - I can literally turn the issue on and off by adjusting the pressure of the cable to the monitor. Weirdly, it happens more if it is in securely. If I pull it back slightly, the issue stops...

So a replacement is needed.
