Hi Mary, When you did a factory reinstall, it may have well installed the display driver for the card or chip that came with the system. I would try making sure that all the old graphics card software is removed, and the system rebooted, before installing your new card and software. Also make sure that the card is firmly seated in the slot, if that fails, then try the card on another system, if that fails, then the card is broken(toast).
