How about:
Was this a clean install of 7, and if so, was it done properly (with the Dell notebook system software and chipset driver installed after the OS, but before any other drivers)?
Which version of 7is is this - 32-bit or 64-bit?
Did this ever work?
Where did the driver come from? Intel or Dell?
Does the video problem always pop up, or only while gaming - and if only while gaming, which games?
I was getting the same "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error intermittently on my Studio 15 and realized that it started happening sometime after Windows Update had provided an update for the Intel driver. I went to the Drivers & Downloads section of Dell Support and after entering information about my computer and that I had Windows 7 I downloaded the Intel Graphics driver from the list of drivers. When I went to install it I got a warning message that it was an older driver than the one I currently had installed and asking if I still wanted to proceed. I proceeded to install and that fixed the problem. The version that I had from Windows update was 8 15 10 2119. The older one from Dell was version 8 15 10 1968. I'm not sure if there was an issue with the newer driver from Windows Update or if it was just something gone wrong installing it but for now I'm sticking with the older one from Dell as it solved the problem.
When I first bought Dell Studio 1737, it was on vista. 2 Years later, I install Window 7 pro and had issue on graphic accelerator driver that I try to install and won't let me.
