If you purchased Office at the time this system shipped, you would have received a disc and a card with the license code for it.
No OEM can ship replacement CDs for Office - MIcrosoft does not allow that. So, if the same thing happens with your replacement system, you'll be talking down its manufacturer as well. Make sure you keep the disc in a safe place next time.
I have the disk, along with the reinstall disk for xp, driver disk and AV reinstall disk. Also have the codes for them. The problem is the Microsoft Office disk dos not have office on it, but instead it has works on it. I paid for office and got office pre-installed on the laptop. When I went to reinstall everything that is when I found the problem. Dell told me I should have noticed this when I bought the computer. Why would I open the "Reinstall" disks and use them on a brand new computer that had everything pre-installed? How would I know that the Office disk had the wrong programs on it, until I when to rebuild my system? I don't see how this is my fault, I also do understand what you are saying from a Microsoft stand point but someone somewhere should be able to fix this problem. It's not my fault someone somewhere put the wrong disk in the wrong sleeve when my system was packaged or shipped.

Are you sure you paid for Office? Many amateurs are easily confused. Look on your invoice. I kept mine.
