DVD Drive not visible
Hi I have an Inspiron N7010 which I started using in Nov 2010. My system has stopped recognising the hardware. I can see it on the system hardware list and when attemping to update the drivers I receive a message stating that the drivers are up to date. When I run the hardware troubleshooter I receive the following message: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)" Could anyone suggest an idiot proof solution please?

Hello,
Welcome to the Dell Community Forum.
Sometimes this may have caused if the Upper and lower filters in the registry are corrupted, you can fix it by deleting the upper and lower filters from system registry and restarting the system.
Steps to locate the upper and lower filters depends upon which operating system you are using.
If you need help in locating the upper and lower filters, reply with the operating system you are using. I will be glad to help.
