It's not my laptop having the issue, it is the X-Fi MB sound blaster software that can't find a audio device that supports it. CODEC works just fine, I would just like to use this product.

I understand what you are saying, you have to select the audio device from the drop down box i mentioned in previous post then close it.Then you should be able to use the creative devices.I have been using this software for 4 years and i know the device needs to be selected.

All right, I did what you said and I am still getting the error message (the audio device was already selected). I wonder if it doesn't work with IDT High definition Audio CODEC.

Oh, and just to add for extra information, my OS is Win7

Yea i was just going to ask that, did you get the x64 bit software disk ?

If so,try running it in Vista compatibility mode. There is a thread on this forum about that software upgrade with windows 7 but i can't find it.

Here it is http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3517/p/19303454/19839457.aspx#19839457  .

Alright, I'll try the switching to vista compatibility mode and google the upgrade (has to be somewhere). Thanks for the help.
