Coworker of mine got it working with handsfree/headset for mobile HTC Desire HD. I was trying without success handsfree for mobile Samsung S8000 Jet and some noname microphone.
I am using a corporate issued E5420, and company is fully VOIP - so no "hard" telephone, as a traveling consultant. The 5420 will not support my Plantronics Backbeat 903 stereo headphones (missing driver, not available) even though they work well with my Droid-X. Have looked high and low for a wired headset with mic that uses a single 3.5 mm plug, but there does not seem to be one available. Hope someone has a solution.

Not really a solution, but I got a E5420 dock station, this one comes with both head/mic ports.
A USB headset might work, haven't test it out
