Welcome to the Community. I did some search on your issue, and came up with the below link. It has pretty much the same symptoms that you have, except that its a Latitude system.
I'm sorry but that was not helpful at all. The computer does not go into "management mode." It only display's the error that is at the bottom of the instructions that you sent me to. The instructions "fix" does not work.
olygirl if it is 2 month old, it is covered by hardware warranty, phone Dell to get it fixed. It is an hardware issue because you get the error message in the Dell BIOs.
Markosj.....did you ever figure this issue out? I have a freind who is having the exact same issue. I have replaced the motherboard and ordered a new battery. I am wondering if the processor is the issue. Why would the service tag/ no battery issue be the same with a new board? The wireless card, memory and processor are the same. should I beging replacing those as well?
Ok........I just figured this out. Good grief did I blow it here. I looked at a page that shows how to disassamble the 1440 and as I studied it I found that when I was re assambling it I was connecting the video cable and routing the wireless card antenna wires before I installed the top cover (the piece with the touch pad). I noticed that the video cable coming from the right side and the wireless card antenna wires (white and black) get connected/routed on top of the top cover and below the keyboard. When I had it installed incorrectly the top cover was not laying flat and causing the issue with the service tag and battery errors. Why those errors appear I do not know but when I installed the top cover and connected/routed the cables correcctly the laptop booted correctly. There is a part of me that would love to know what was going on to get those messages like a short or something not being connected but I am just happy it works. There is a brass/gold metal tab labeled SPR5203 that may have not been touching the bottom of the top cover. Maybe that was it. Oh Well......Now I have a perfectly good "spare" motherboard.....UGH......
The wire routing was what fixed it for me. After I put it back together the message went away but the battery was showing 0% and charging. Going into the device manager and Clicking batteries and disabling Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and then re-enabling it solved that issue.
Larry you're the man! Nice attention to detail! Wish I had a few like you working for me!
I have a problem with dell latitude xt2 after i installed brand new battery original or ether any batteries from dell xt...and "received the following message at POST"
WARNING: If a Service Tag was just installed, you will need to shut the system down and unplug the AC adapter if present. Re-insert the AC adapter and power on the system to allow for proper functionality.
WARNING: The battery cannot be identified.
This system will be unable to charge the battery.
Strike F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility. Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics.
If i go F1 it went to windows and this message came up...
"The battery installed in your Dell Notebook is not recognized. As a result, your battery will not provide sufficient power to operate your Dell notebook, your system will power down when the power adapter is unplugged, your battery will not charge. Please insert a Dell-approved battery."..
Really well done here. Thanks for sharing this information. Ran into identical problem while reassembling 1440 after replacing the video cable. Lesson learned for me, take pictures as you disassemble.
You sir, are a genius! I have been working on pc's and laptops for 25 years and did the same exact thing with the cable routing. I found your post....took the laptop all apart again and rerouted those cables and it works...jesus I have no idea why it works but it did. Thank you!!
I have the exact same problem on my Latitude E6230, purchased a few months ago. I've updated BIOS to A09, downloaded drivers, tried Dell System Detect (which doesn't work)... can anyone help?
I ended up contacting Dell support and they solved it. I don't remember what they did to fix, it. If you bought it a few months ago, it should still be under warranty.

The post by DELL-Royan S looks like spam.
I'm getting this error on my Latitude and I'm not a computer person so I don't know what to do. My laptop is only 2 months old :(
