There is an order in which the drivers must be loaded:

Thanks very much for that link. It seems that the NSS file was the missing piece of the puzzle. It also explains why I didn't need it for my Studio 1555 laptop, because I reinstalled with Win 7 and not XP. ...learning is fun~ =p
