The "SCSI bios not installed" message is a normal informational message. The bios will only install on the first bootable media found at post. Normally this is the hard drive. When you put a bootable cdrom, then the bios will install on that controller. Your PowerEdge 6100 has 3 scsi devices installed. 2 Adaptec AIC-7860 which controls the cdrom and hard drive (if no raid controller), and finally your raid controller.
You will also get this message if the MBR is corrupt or the active partition is not set correctly.
The PowerEdge 6100 should have the PowerEdge Expandable Raid Controller (PERC) II installed. I will include links for the 2 latest versions of firmware. Note: If you are still running U75 firmware, they must be installed in order: Perc II U77 Firmware Filename: PERC_U77.EXE (1.75 MB) http://support.dell.com/filelib/format.aspx?ReleaseID=R19380

What Operating System are you running?

Mark,
Thank you for your input. That PE server is running under W2K Server. I will try your advise and see what happens.
Regards,
Manny
